In order to provide legal defense for those who were not caught in the act, the laws must read that we ALL have in available. Even when caught in those circumstances, you will not always be immediately aware of any extenuating circumstances, the background to the situation.

How about the phrase innocent until PROVEN guilty? There are ALWAYS other issues to any crime. Even if it is because the person is truely out of their heads and just killing to kill.

Our legal systems are all far from perfet, but they are what they are in order to protect the rights of EVERYone.

Depends on why they are "on your back". If you owe taxes that you haven't paid, and it looks to the IRS like you could eventually pay them or you have assets they can seize for payment, then a lawyer isn't going to get you off the hook for them.

The job of a tax lawyer is just as stressful as an accountant - I should know - I am both.

Most financial planners work in a group comprising of all these attributes.

For you to chase all the different aspects individually, would only be done if you were really rich to start with

I would say that they do all 3, small, large and start their own.
There are also those that go to work for corporations.

When a lawyer first starts out he is better off to join a firm, large firms can give him the chance to get some actual practice where a smaller firm would more than likely specialize in taxes.

Starting their own firm would be tough because of the expenses and most attorneys gain experience and money then branch off onto their own.

You just really need to follow your gut about what you're really interested in and what is the most important to you. That is very important in the long run. Every profession has its own pros and cons. Look around who is making a good money and living well ...? Can't you see doctors and lawyers among them? However your question sounds somewhat very shallow. I am sorry saying this, but if you like dressing up etc., go for it. Finally, the decision is yours. Good Luck.

Do not call any of the ones that advertise on TV. They are good at separating you from your money and that is about it.

Find a CPA or EA in your area and have him or her explain an "Offer In Compromise" to you and see if you qualify. You can also go to IRS.gov and search. It is a complex process. The "form" for the offer is 44 pages long. The IRS has up to two years to decide on the offer and they say "No" over 80% of the time.
